ProForce is a government contractor supporting our client with an immediate need for a Security System Administrator at NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. After a 12 month contract, this position leads into a fulltime position with our prime contractor.
Security System Administrator
Key Responsibilities:
• Research vulnerabilities
• Test in the lab, and scan again to verify fix
• Coordinate with team members to apply fix to production environment
• Submit Change Requests
• Maintain lab infrastructure
• Address current and future Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
• Assist in building out new infrastructure to alleviate End of Life concerns for HW and SW
• Monitor Security vulnerability reporting tool to ensure that systems remain healthy, and ensure that all assets are reporting correctly
• Manages and monitors user authentication, authorization and access controls for systems and applications
• Documents changes to systems and networks that impact security
• Improve security efficiency, streamline work process and works collaboratively with IT personnel to accomplish objective
• Implementation, administration and support and monitoring of the preventative and detective IT security controls
• Ensure security controls are kept up-to-date and are configured for appropriate effectiveness
• Responds to and resolves alerts/anomalies through monitoring to ensure appropriate behavior
• Generate and maintains administrative documentation such as architecture diagrams and admin manuals, operational procedures and processes
• Reviews and evaluates patch findings. Recommends software upgrades and performs upgrades in production
• Perform security tasks during BCP exercise and actual disasters
Education and Experience Required:
• Prior experience developing information security standardized configuration guides and procedures
• Min 5 yrs exp in Info Technology Operations, prefer Security Operations
• Min 3 yrs exp in working full-time as an Information Security Professional
• Professional security certification preferred, such as CISSP, CISA, CEH, applicable SANs programs or other industry certifications i.e. Cisco, Microsoft, VMware
Extensive experience with one or more of the following IT products:
• Windows 2008, 20012, Exchange 2010, 2013 or 2016, Active Directory Services, and other various IT Tools to support/delivery IT services
• System Vulnerability (Tenable NESSUS) & System Security Configuration Compliance (IBM Big Fix Endpoint Security, CIS-CAT, or OpenSCAP) Security Scanners
• MAC OS X 10.x
• Red Hat Linux (RHEL)
• MS PowerShell scripting and/or UNIX shell scripting
• Symantec End-Point Protection (Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware, Network Threat Protection, Application and Device Control, and Firewall)
• Data-at-Rest (DAR) whole disk encryption; File Vault v2, BitLocker and Symantec SED
• ArcSight logger
• Fiberlink MaaS360 MDM
Core IT Services Skills:
• Hands-on technical experience with Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating system platforms. Mac or Linux desktop platforms is a plus
• Knowledge and Exp with Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange architecture and operations
• Strong understanding of industry Cybersecurity concepts
• Strong understanding of networking and associated protocols
• Knowledge of FISMA requirements and NIST standards focusing on Assessment & Authorization and Continuous Monitoring
• Experience with ownership of security solutions from requirements definition to operational turnover
• Experience with writing technical documentation that is both internal and customer facing
• Must have proven track record in customer facing situations (presentations and meetings)
• Ability to use discretion when handling confidential information
• Ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in a quick, professional manner
• Demonstrated technical independence in highly complex and integrated environments
